Yes, I did ride up there. The summit of American Flag Mountain is a popular destination for strong dirt bike riders from Aspen to Crested Butte. The view is obviously magnificent.
The summit you see in the photo is a pretty scary outcropping with huge cliffs on 3 sides. A brave soul could definitely base jump off that thing. The fourth side leads to a slaggy slope that is obviously ridable, although pretty rocky. But any relatively advanced rider can make the ascent.
The photo was taken from another part of the mountain across from the outcropping at the summit. It's a cool perspective because it appears to have been taken from a helicopter.

This is two of us at a checkpoint in the 1973 ISDT held in Dalton, Massachusetts. Fred Deeley Yamaha sponsored three riders for this event on stock RT 360s. We changed a few minor things and I believe that mine was the only Yamaha to finish the event. I received a Silver Medal. I was late at one checkpoint in the entire six days due to a frayed electrical wire that I repaired in a rain storm in the forest, which put me off my gold time.
It goes without saying that we are proud to have Ron as a customer.

Complete rebuild with 17" apes,(wired internally), custom ostrich springseat and grips, custom one-off exhaust, and rigid frame. The frame and axles have 48,000 some odd miles on them and still no major problems.
